AN EASIER WAY TO DO EXERCISE
We all know that we 1... do exercise to stay healthy and yet so many of us 2... do even a minimum amount of exercise. Why? At Sports4You we regularly ask our clients what stops them being more active. You 3... surprised to know that it's all to do with time.
General health advice suggests that we 4... do at least 150 minutes of exercise over a week. That doesn't sound like much - half an hour a day, with a couple of days' rest. But finding that half an hour is harder than it sounds. We all 5... work or study, not to mention make time for other people. We often leave exercise at the bottom of our 'to-do' list. 6... start next week; we say.
That's why high - impact training (HIT)is gathering interest among busy people who want to be fit and healthy. The basic idea is that the 150 minutes of weekly exercise 7... do is replaced by short, but high-impact exercise. For example, 8... run four 20-second sprints, with 10-secondrest periods in two minutes. Over time, it seems HIT has the same impact on our fitness as 30 minutes of slow jogging done a few times a week.
