Is Fair Trade really fair?

Consumers in many countries are becoming more 1(CONSUME) and both the 2(ENVIRONMENT) and ethical issues it creates. That is why the Fair Trade organisation was designed-to help and protect farmers in poor countries. It seems to be a good initiative, but is it really A an / - / the idea that we can fully approve B of/on/with?

On the one hand, Fair Trade tries to make sure that the producers in poorer countries earn more money. It helps farmers create a better infrastructure, 3(STRONG) their position in the 4(AGRICULTURE) sector, and invest their money wisely. Such a practice is definitely something everyone can agree C at / for / with.

Sadly, at the same time the Fair Trade model seems to challenge some ethical 5(BELIEVE). For instance, some online sources suggest that in fact only a small number of farmers benefit from the system. In Africa,D which/ that/ where farmers need more support, just a few countries are helped. In addition, some studies claim that the poor communities receive only a small amount of the profit and that most of the money goes to the companies which transport, pack and sell the final product. Some experts say this is 6(AVOID), but it is something that one may criticise the Fair Trade initiative  E for / by / with.

In conclusion, it seems to me that Fair Trade is an initiative which only looks like a good idea. However, we need to remember it is also a business strategy that brings money to large and 7(POWER) companies. In my opinion, we need to do more to make sure Fair Trade really helps the poor people and not only itself.
